The Rangpur Renaissance
The Rangpur region in northern Bangladesh carries deep historical resonance with indigo. During the 18th and 19th centuries, forced indigo cultivation left scars on the region’s socio-economic landscape.
Today, Bengal Indigo is rewriting this narrative. By reintroducing Indigofera as a voluntary, high-value leguminous crop in rotation with local cropping patterns, we are turning historical land into a beacon of regenerative agriculture.
